Sealed In Rebellion, Strengthened By Survival

The Story Behind the Seal
Seeded over 40 years ago in Orange County’s surf, skate, and punk scene raised on Social Distortion and the Z-Boys.
As a teenager, I pitched Moda Foca to legendary designer Nolan Miller. He didn’t love it, but his advice stuck: "pour your energy into what lights you up. The best projects don’t ask permission they already know the way".
That fire came from home. Mom, Nolan’s film set costumer, later his pattern maker, and ultimately the designer of Nicole Miller’s wedding gown is also a four-time cancer survivor. Grit, creativity, no quit. That’s the foundation.
Four decades later, navigating a second cancer myself, Moda Foca came to life and became fuel: a declaration to stay courageous, own the diagnosis, and keep paddling forward unapologetically.
Community First

Stand up
No one rides alone. Every third Moda Foca tee purchased provides a tee, free of charge, to a cancer survivor or a family member who wants to stand with them but may not be able to. Just support, passed forward.

Show Up
Moda Foca is friends, family, and neighbors showing up for one another when things get heavy. Hard moments are easier to face when you’re not doing it solo and this is a community you can lean on. We ride together, we recover together, and we move forward stronger because of it.

Lift Up
Know someone riding a heavy wave?Nominate them. We’ll take care of the rest. We'll send support, share their story if they’re down, and pull them into the Moda Foca lineup. Strength in numbers.
